NYFW F/W 2011: Christian Siriano

Former Project Runway designer Christian Siriano started his Fall 2011 show in a dark, edgy way, with lovely tailored jackets in various texturized pieces, black, over sheer skirts, obviously a trend that is not going away.  Ladylike suits and coats were gorgeously worn with the perfect amount of chic and elegance.

Inspired by plant life (photographs of black orchids to be precise), Christian Siriano featured a palette of moss green, mauve pink, and muted black in the dresses adorned with laser-cut flower detailing, 3D incarnations as if they had petals and leaves.

The usual gowns showed up, but were slightly subdued, not as over the top as they usual could be. A petal-pink ball skirt was paired with a simple gray silk tee to chic effect and a moody-hued orchid-print organza cocktail dress with a pretty swirling drape that ended in a rosette on one shoulder was a very nice détente. With jackets, skirts, pants, beautiful dresses and fantasy gowns, this collection of looks has us excited for the gold hardware and five-inch heels from Christian Siriano for Payless fall 2011 collection.  I can’t wait until those bad boys are in stores.
