WHITNEY EVE Fall 2012

Designer Inspiration: The young and upcoming Whitney Eve dug deep into her past and in all fashion gal style found inspiration in her granma’s old closet. This season’s inspiration is the kaleidoscope. One way of distinguishing Eve amongst young designers is with her prints and this season’s are as striking as ever.

Colors, Materials, Shapes: Soft pastels with a splash of orange and androgynous blacks filled the Whitney Eve runway this fall. The show was a display of the softest colors and materials blending together to create something of an edgy vintage look if I might say. Beige velvets and organic prints on white and orange filled the first half of the show in loose fitting shapes while black velvets, gray sequins and navy satin carried out the rest of the shows in soft loos Daisy Buchanan like shapes. The way Eve mixes heavy kaleidoscope patterns and prints with soft materials such as velvet and soft chiffons and satins gave the collection a very muted and subtle feel that makes, in my opinion every piece wearable.

What We Loved: Although the whole collection was a hit for us, the 13th look just hit the spot! With loose wide leg embroider black and navy velvet pants and a rigid shaped chiffon printed shirt on top to complements the bottom’s looseness, the look is absolutely fabulous! The statement necklace and orange lipstick are like the cherry on top
