KORTO MOMOLU Fall 2012

There are some designers that I just j’adore a little bit more during New York Fashion Week, and one of them is without a doubt, Korto Momolu.  The Project Runway Season 5 1st runner up always satisfies my fashion pallet with her eclectic design aesthetic and customary play on of color. . .she’s bold, she’s fearless. . . and if Korto’s Fall 2012 collection was any indication, she was ready for war, matter of fact–mortal-combat-gloves-off  “Monaco” style.

On Monday, Korto Momolu presented her ultra femimine  14-piece collection at the swanky Bryant Park Hotel held in the Cellar Bar. Admidst the “lights, camera, and action” and there was plenty of it;  (with Misa Hylton, Simone I. Smith, and Dwight Eubanks on deck, ) the grand splendor of Korto’s latest collection was definitely the show stopper.

Models were dripping in sexy, donning regal gowns, along with chic jumpsuits that screamed sensual glamour in ode to Grace Kelly and Bridget Bardot. The opulent, yet cozy comfy sweters  intermized with the sassy day dresses would make any jet setter look fabulous and affulent while on the go.

What made the collection even more enthralling were the exotic models, as the entire collection was modeled by contestants from Germany’s Next Top Model hosted by Heidi Klum, whom were on hand filming their final episodes. If this is Korto’s foresight for the Hollywood starlet, fashion icon, and jet-setter for the Fall, then I am gone; take me to her future and I will never come back.
