The Best of Milan Fashion Week

La Bella Vita, the good life, are three small worlds that can completely describe Milan Fashion Week. Milan fashion week brings the Italian city to life with swarms of celebrities, media and fashion industry icons.

Of course we have our favorites and then some, so here is our best shot at our Milan Fashion Week Roundup.  Which is your fave pick?

Vivienne Westwood —British student boyfriends? Prince Williams? Rouge Lips…on men? Fingerwaves in hair. Large tailored pants with leather belts. “Our MAN collection has plenty of choice,” Westwood wrote by way of preface.

Dolce & Gabbana —-Trim reds, relaxed grays, pavé-sequined jackets in pink and black, velvet, distressed denim.  Low-rise, multi-pocketed pants were slung off skinny suspenders.

Burberry Prorsum —

structural forms, drop shoulders and high funnel necks – first in buffalo checks and plaids, then giving way to very bright, very vintage 60s looking peacoats and duffles.

Runner Up’s in our book..

Roberto Cavalli— 70′s, grooovy mood, shimmery three-piece suits, coppery rust, camel, gray, and icy blue, ultra fitted jackets, flared pants, silk shirts, Spanish heeled boots. “Groovy is a lifestyle,” Cavalli proclaimed.

Costume National—-Frank Sinatra, the perfect poster boy, rebel tailoring, black trench, layers, graphic outlines and hems, wool sleeves, khaki leather, quilted motocross detailing, cardigans, punky striped mohair sweaters.

DSQUARED2–-Mash-up of pioneer spirit and grungy guy, wide-brimmed Borsalinos, prim spectacles, and clerical black and white looks, lean, mean monochrome tailoring; skinny denims; judicious use of black leather detailing; hints of fur trims; and crystal-beaded waistcoats.
