Target “Fashions” its Kaleidoscope Spectacular

Fashion week might still be a few weeks away, but Target and the Standard hotel wasted little time bringing us a twist on the runway show. Just like the Christmas spectacular held at Radio City hall every Christmas season, the Target Kaleidoscope fashion spectacular was beyond amazement and excitement.  Over 150 of the hotel’s windows were filled with dancers and neon LED lights yesterday, August 18th ; the dancers all moved in sync with an original music score by Sam Spiegel (brother d’ Spike Jonze) as models strut along an outdoor catwalk on the street below—all in autumn threads from Target outfitters like Mossimo, Merona, Converse and Liz Lange.

Dancers were dressed in looks from Target’s Fall 2010 collection, styled by Mel Ottenberg and frequent Target beauty collaborator Sonia Kashuk created kaleidoscope-themed makeup looks to accompany the clothing in a number of fall color palates.  Target live-streamed the entire event on it’s Facebook page. Everyone may have a different part of the show, but besides the awesome fashions on the runway, my favorite was a “little” robot formed through the LED lights on the hotel building, dancing the robot and rocking out to the fine beats.  What was your favorite part of the spectacular?
