RUNWAY REPORT: VERA WANG SPRING 2011
Maybe you think differently than I, but when I think of Vera Wang, I only think of white and happy and cheery, partially because I immediately think wedding dresses. Well, take that thought, if you think the same way as me, and flip it around to dark and femmy masculine. Goodbye to beautiful lush florals and sweet corseted tulle dresses; hello Vera Wang dark side.
The spring 2011 collection definitely had a more boyish, martial arts feel to it, with pieces inspired by the film Kill Bill. With asymmetrical quilted vests, pinstriped jumpsuits and ivory organdy kimono blouse tucking into gym shorts? This was definitely a twist on Wang’s art of design.
