Steven Tyler Lands Fashion Gig
As if the music industry wasn’t enough for fame and fortune, Steven Tyler doesn’t stop with his newest gig at American Idol. He’s an even newer gig–the inspiration and the face of the new Andrew Charles rock ’n’ roll men’s wear line under the Li & Fung joint venture with designer Tommy Hilfiger.
An official announcement is expected within the next few days, according to sources. The rocker-inspired collection will be sold exclusively at Macy’s this fall. It will be developed by Music Entertainment Sports Holdings (MESH), a division of LF USA. Tommy Hilfiger, Joe Lamastra, Andy Hilfiger and Bernt Ullmann are partners in MESH, which is separate from the Tommy Hilfiger Corp.
Tyler’s 22-year-old daughter, Chelsea, may have some kind of role in the Andrew Charles brand. Even at the age of 63, Tyler has proven he can start a fashion trend with the best of them. His fondness for wearing feathers in his hair on “American Idol” prompted fans to follow suit — so much so that many tackle shops, yes, I said it—tackle shops, have had their inventory of fly fishing lures wiped clean.
