NYFW: Proenza Schouler Fall 2011
We always know we are at a Proenza Schouler show because all the cool kids are there. Liv Tyler and Chloe Sevigny were seated front row. Jack and Lazaro said they were inspired by a recent road trip they took out West, which was seen in the Navajo prints. The prints were loud, detailed and unique. They were loud in the sense that they featured a lot of color, which we don’t usually see for Fall. Lots of mustard yellows and red, of course.
The boys continued to top themselves with their detailed construction. There were laser cut designs on velvet dresses that were immaculate. There was so much work put into all the asymmetrical lines we couldn’t help but be amazed.
We were sad about the lack of handbags. The PS1 is such a coveted bag, we were hoping to see the next “it” handbag at their show. There were a few fabulous clutches featured on the runway along with some great bib necklaces. Some looked like wooden shark teeth and others were ornate floral looking motifs.
