Michael Kors celebrated his 30th anniversary by giving a nod back to the decade when he started, the seventies. You could pick up on the disco vibe by the music playing. The wide leg pants, the sequins, the metallic platform heels and the fluffy fur coats also reminded us of the disco era.
The collection of course featured neutral colors such as whites, blacks and grays. However, there was a rose pink, dark lavender, a slightly olive gray and red to break up the monotony. Every show has to feature some kind of red this runway season! There were the quintessential Michael Kors structured pieces mixed with loose draped pieces. The high-waisted skirts had high slits for a hint of sexiness. It was interesting to see dresses paired with pants.
We can’t forget about the men. The men were sent down the runway in 3-piece suits with no shirts and oversized jackets.
There was quite a bit of fur not only as a jacket but also seen in a fur cross body bag. In the accessories department it was all about the clutch mixed with a few cross body bags. There were metallic cuffs and belts to accentuate each look. Go out and get yourself a belt!
The show was nearly 11 minutes long, which is a lifetime for a runway show. However, there were so many great looks it was worth it.
I’m loving the first look! Too bad about the fur though
