Karl knows exactly how to pick his luxurious destinations: Chanel’s Cruise 2008 was at a Hollywood airport, Cruise 2010 was in Venice, Italy. Now the latest extravaganza happened in the south of France St. Tropez. In attendance were Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, Vanessa Paradis, Leigh Lezark, and Georgia May Jagger.

He presented his latest Cruise collection, unveiled it on Tuesday just before sundown in Antibes to a Chanel crowd including Blake Lively, Alexa Chung, Vanessa Paradis, actress Anna Mouglalis, Caroline Sieber and Clemence Poesy.

Kristen McMenamy was among the 50 models who took to the catwalk to bring to life Lagerfeld‘s sophisticated and Thirties-inspired designs – a glamorous and embellished collection of dropped-waist dresses, florals, beads, cigarette pants, and floating gowns, all accessorised with 90 pieces of Chanel Haute Joaillerie.

“This is a modern version of sophisticated dressing,” explained Lagerfeld, telling WWD: “Cruise is always about going away.”

Everyone sat on blue deckchairs beneath white umbrellas, guests were surprised with a concert by Bryan Ferry after the show as well as a 30-minute film by Lagerfeld, called The Tale of a Fairy- (watch it on the link- A must watch for all Chanel fans). in which McMenamy and Lady Amanda Harlech play bickering sisters who share a house.
