RUNWAY REPORT: RACHEL ROY SPRING 2011

“I call it the Band-Aid capsule,” explained Roy. “You know how Band-Aids disappear on your skin? That’s what I want these to do in a woman’s wardrobe.”

Rachel Roy’s presentation was jewel bright and bold with some abstract prints, loose dolman-sleeve blouses, and even some flaring skirts.  Colors ranged from sky blue to raspberry pink, bright purple, and nude.  Bringing in neutrals, the abstract prints play a strong role, adding some oomph to the sweet and quiet tones.

Peplum bustiers add a bit of sexiness to the conservative yet sophisticated pieces; “The intention is to grow with every collection,” said Roy. Consider this a nice little spurt.
